Statement: "The Dark Prince" was what the Victorians called the Purple Emperor butterfly. This butterfly is rarely seen, as it lives very elusive in the highest canopies of the oak forests and only comes to the ground to feed.

It is said that if you are lucky enough to spot one, an important person will soon enter your life.

I offer this painting in either a black frame/mount combination, or in a white one. The difference in the frame colour creates a different vibe to this painting. Both work well, you decide for yourself, depending on what you feel suits your spirit and walls best.

When I was a kid, I wanted nothing more than for Peter Pan and Tinkerbell to come in my window, sprinkle me with fairy dust, and fly me off to Neverland, and whenever this happened, I had no intention whatsoever of ever returning to the normal world. In fact, I found the part in the story where the children all returned back home to be absolutely tragic. This painting is of John and Michael Darling , who were two of the children that flew off to Neverland (if you remember). They're all grown up now but unable to cope without their fairy dust and the feeling of flying, as I'm sure many of us would be.
